A leading OEM seeks a Senior Engineer for a 7-month contract in Gaydon, Warwickshire. The role focuses on ensuring vehicle programs meet reliability targets across validation stages. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of attribute requirement targets at programme gateways.
  • Work closely with attribute teams to track and resolve technical issues.
  • Create and manage delivery plans across CAE and physical evaluations.

Reliability Engineer
Gaydon,Warwickshire

A leading OEM is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Durability & Robustness function, which sits within a broader vehicle attribute integration division. This role plays a key part in ensuring that full vehicle programmes meet reliability targets across both virtual and physical validation.

You’ll lead on setting, maintaining and verifying durability targets across systems and components—supporting product development teams from concept through to launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of attribute requirement targets at programme gateways
  • Work closely with attribute teams to track and resolve technical issues
  • Create and manage delivery plans across CAE, road load data collection, system rig testing, and physical vehicle evaluations
  • Engage with component/system engineers and suppliers to cascade requirements and drive issue resolution
  • Compile technical recommendations, reports and status updates
  • Capture and feed back lessons learned into programme planning and attribute development

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in engineering test and validation, ideally in an automotive environment
  • Good knowledge of durability, robustness or strength-related testing
  • Project management experience – ideally in complex test programmes
  • Confident with reporting tools – PowerPoint, Excel etc.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (e.g. 8D, RCA, DoE)
  • Exposure to systems engineering principles

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Experience with CAD visualisation tools (3Dx, TeamCentre etc.)
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle systems
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience
