Job Description

PE Global is recruiting a Reliability Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client based in the Liverpool area. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role is an initial 6-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements in plant reliability by identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies across the site to reduce downtime and increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimise asset performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Analyse maintenance data and performance trends to identify high-risk failure modes and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop reliability models and support the implementation of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) practices.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental, and engineering standards in all reliability-focused initiatives.
  • Support capital projects with reliability input during design, installation, and commissioning phases.

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years' experience working in a Reliability, Maintenance or Engineering role within a chemical, petrochemical, or process plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment reliability, predictive maintenance technologies, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to chemical plant operations.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and reliability engineering tools such as FMEA, RCM, or Weibull analysis.
  • Proven track record of implementing asset improvement projects with measurable outcomes.
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent industrial experience).
