Purpose of the Role:

We're seeking a highly motivated, factory based, Reliability Engineer to join our team at the McLaren Technology Centre.

This role is part of the Reliability function within Engineering, working closely with the operations and trackside functions to proactively improve reliability to a championship winning level. The focus of the role is on leading and facilitating projects at concept and deployment stages to fully embrace proactive prevention of issues.

Principal Accountabilities:

Definition and development of new reliability focused toolsets and processes

Mapping of existing engineering processes and identifying improvement opportunities.

Data analysis of faults to propose projects to improve reliability and improve practices.

Fault Resolutions –assist in delivery of fault resolution projects.

Support/ Facilitation of Design Reviews and FMEA

Facilitation of DMU (Digital Mock-Up) activities, including clash detection and component clearances.

Analysis of data from track running to provide feedback on any reliability risks. Race weekend support may be required

Supporting definition and delivery of training with a focus on entrenching best practice & reliability culture and fault resolution within engineering.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Educated to Degree level in an Engineering subject

Experience of working in a fast-paced design and manufacturing organisation

A high level of experience of CAD toolsets, with DMU knowledge a preference

Familiarity with FMEA and other reliability toolsets

Self-motivated with experience of leading projects

Good appreciation of concepts and detail design and how to design for reliability
