Why Do We Want You?

Phoenix Health and Safety, part of Wilmington plc, are looking for a Relationship Manager to play a pivotal role in Phoenix’s commercial engine.

You will be converting qualified opportunities into long-term customers, acting as the first face-to-face point of contact after the outbound team. This role is responsible for running discovery meetings, developing client-specific proposals, and supporting the delivery of high-value tenders.

Working closely with the Nurturing and Key Account teams, this is a consultative, commercially focused role with clear revenue responsibilities.

Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Introductory & Discovery Meetings

1. Conduct structured introductory meetings with prospective clients passed from the Outbound Sales team.
2. Use consultative questioning to understand compliance needs, pain points, and business goals.
3. Qualify opportunities further and present the Phoenix value proposition in a compelling, relevant way.

Proposal Development & Presentation Delivery

1. Collaborate with Nurturing and Account Management teams to develop tailored proposals, pricing, and solutions.
2. Support and co-deliver client presentations and key pitch meetings, particularly for mid-to-large opportunities.
3. Ensure all documentation reflects a clear understanding of client challenges, timelines, and success criteria.
4. Contribute to the preparation of key project bids and tenders, ensuring commercial and operational alignment.
5. Act as a liaison between sales, delivery, and leadership to ensure accurate scopes and deliverables. Support pre-contract onboarding to ensure smooth transition to account delivery teams.

CRM, Forecasting & Reporting

1. Maintain all meeting notes, proposal stages, and deal statuses in HubSpot.
2. Track conversion metrics and maintain accurate pipeline visibility.
3. Provide feedback to marketing and outbound teams based on prospect conversations and objections.

What’s the Best Thing About This Role?

You will be converting qualified appointments (SQLs) into paying clients by running tailored introductory meetings, co-creating impactful proposals with the wider commercial team, and ensuring the solution presented aligns with client needs and commercial objectives.

This role bridges early engagement with long-term retention and growth.

What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?

You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be target driven to achieve results. This is a new role and you will need to be able to network and build accounts from scratch.

Essential and desirable capabilities

We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes…

To be successful in this role, you must have:

1. Experience in client-facing consultative sales or relationship management.
2. Proven ability to present solutions, write proposals, and close deals.
3. Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to bridge multiple internal teams.
4. Experience with CRM systems (preferably HubSpot) and pipeline management.
5. Familiarity with tender/bid processes and B2B service sales is a plus.
