Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Relationship Director to lead SME Healthcare client relationships across West London, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hampshire. You’ll manage a portfolio of healthcare clients with turnover £10m–£50m and travel to client sites is essential.

You’ll grow the portfolio by winning new business, provide funding solutions from our term lending and working capital ranges, and act as a trusted advisor, delivering excellent service and tailored banking solutions.

JOB TITLE: Relationship Director, SME Healthcare

LOCATION(s): High Wycombe, Reading, Slough or Southampton

SALARY: Negotiable, starting from £85,493

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least one day per week, or 20% of our time, at your local office.

About The Role

Would you like to work within Commercial Banking Coverage and help Healthcare businesses of all types and sizes to prosper by offering the funding, support and reassurance they need to grow?


An opportunity exists for a Relationship Director to join our Relationship Management team in the Buckinghamshire and Surrey Area Director group working with clients who'll typically have a turnover of between £10m and £50m. You'll have a portfolio of approximately 56 local Healthcare clients based in and around West London, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hampshire. The ability to travel to clients in person is essential.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for supporting clients with all their banking needs including lending, deposits and a wide range of other services. There is an expectation to grow the portfolio, by attracting high value clients, through becoming the go to banking professional within your local community.


Typically, you would be involved with the following:



  • Providing excellent service to our clients, putting them at the heart of what you do, adding value at every interaction and becoming a "trusted advisor".

  • Promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers through your knowledge of the local market

  • Providing a range of funding solutions to our clients from our Term Lending and Working Capital product range tailoring them to Client needs

  • Building relationships with Group Partner companies and through them bring the whole bank to the client delivering products to meet their needs.

  • Handling the risk and compliance of your client portfolio

  • Active engagement in local & regional activities. Developing your own capability and taking responsibility for supporting senior management in progression of your team

Ideally you'll demonstrate experience and knowledge of the following:



  • To be seen as the "go to" banker in your geographic area of responsibility. Maintaining a high profile with external influencers and the local business community to achieve the Bank's stated aim of being the best bank for clients.

  • A track record of winning new business in a competitive environment within corporate or commercial banking, alongside a broad established network within the local Surrey and Buckinghamshire commercial market.

  • Supporting sustainable business growth - You'll will take personal responsibility for delivering results, whilst readily accepting change and utilising a growth mind set to focus on client outcomes.

  • Growing market share of Clients & Lending - Highly proficient at building and maintaining productive relationships with external professionals and adept at winning good volumes of higher value new client relationships.

  • Providing outstanding knowledge of the sector - Uses specialist credit and sector knowledge along with all available digital tools to deliver excellent client experiences whilst identifying ways to grow income, balance sheet and market share and handling associated risks.

  • People - Having a growth mindset and be keen to adopt and use key tools that enhance the client experience and demonstrate the value a Face-to-Face Relationship Manager brings to a client's business.

  • Environmental Awareness - Promoting the bank's image through strong ethics & integrity across a range of clients, prospects & professionals.
