In the UK Mid Corporate Coverage business area of Corporate Banking, we seek to understand our clients’ objectives, opportunities, and challenges, working with them to achieve their business ambitions. We offer expert industry insight across sectors such as manufacturing, technology, restaurants, and law firms, collaborating with product specialists to deliver suitable financial solutions.
As a Relationship Director, you will manage, develop, and grow a portfolio of approximately 40 customers, each with a turnover between £6.5m and £50m or debt requirements exceeding £1m, through excellent customer service and relationship deepening. You will proactively maximize market opportunities to attract and acquire new customers. Business development is key, aiming to secure at least 2 new-to-bank customers annually or generate a minimum of £150k in annualized income from new client relationships.

Purpose of the role:
To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients, acting as a bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs for mutual benefit and long-term success.
Accountabilities:
- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, analyzing data from various sources to identify trends and opportunities.
- Research industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic advice.
- Design customized solutions addressing clients' specific needs, leveraging the bank's products and services.
- Communicate value propositions, justify recommendations, and negotiate mutually beneficial terms.
- Guide clients in financial decision-making, risk management, and wealth strategies, keeping them informed of market trends.
- Assess and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships.
- Document all interactions and transactions for transparency and support product development and strategy.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue, and other metrics to evaluate relationship management success.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and develop growth strategies.
