Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in actuarial work.
  • Currently studying towards qualification with IFoA (or equivalent).
  • Experience with London Market reserving preferred.

Job description

Arthur is delighted to support a global Insurance and Reinsurance Provider in a senior reserving analyst role within a global reserving team. The position focuses on delivering reserve analysis across property, casualty, and specialty reinsurance portfolios. It involves supporting quarterly reserving, reporting to senior stakeholders, and developing reserving processes. The role also offers opportunities to supervise junior team members and contribute to regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Produce quarterly reserve estimates for reinsurance portfolios on a gross and net basis.
  2. Analyze changes in reserves and clearly explain movements between valuation periods.
  3. Prepare written reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting trends and risk factors.
  4. Identify emerging risks, uncertainties, and market impacts, proposing actions where appropriate.
  5. Assist with the preparation of actuarial inputs for regulatory filings and audits.
  6. Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of reserving models and internal processes.
Requirements:
  1. A 2:1 or above in a mathematical or actuarial degree.
  2. Studying towards qualification with the IFoA (or equivalent actuarial body).
  3. At least 3 years’ experience in actuarial work, with exposure to London Market reserving preferred.
  4. Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Power BI, R, or Python is advantageous.
