Job Overview:

We seek an organized Reinsurance Excess of Loss Operations Specialist to manage our excess of loss reinsurance programs, ensuring efficient processing, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. The role involves claims, coverage verification, and contract management related to excess of loss reinsurance agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

Excess of Loss Treaty Management:

  • Manage operational aspects of treaties, including tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain records of treaty terms, limits, and conditions for compliance.

Claims and Recoveries Handling:

  • Coordinate claims processing, ensuring timely reporting and management of recoveries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and reinsurers, monitor claim reserves and settlements.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Provide accurate reports on premiums, claims, and recoveries.
  • Validate and reconcile data between internal systems and reinsurer reports.
  • Prepare periodic reports for stakeholders.

Contract Compliance and Administration:

  • Assist with contract preparation and review, ensuring accuracy of terms.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to treaty terms or data issues.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify workflow improvements, automation opportunities.
  • Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Act as liaison between departments and reinsurers.
  • Support brokers, reinsurers, and internal teams on reinsurance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
  • At least 7 years in reinsurance operations, focusing on excess of loss treaties.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance contracts and operations.
  • Experience with claims, recoveries, treaty management.
  • Proficiency in reinsurance software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations is a plus; Duck Creek Reinsurance system preferred.
