We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Reinsurance Manager in our Annuity Client Services team.

Location:

This role can be based in either our London or Edinburgh office, with the flexibility to work two days per week from home. We value flexible working arrangements and will discuss your preferences during the recruitment process.

Salary and benefits:

£60,000 - £75,000 plus a bonus of up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension scheme, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, three volunteering days, and more.

The role

Working closely with the Actuarial Operations Lead, you will support various aspects of reinsurance operations. This role suits someone seeking a challenge with experience in managing reinsurance arrangements efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the technical accuracy of Reinsurance Settlement reports and Collateral Valuations for longevity-based products.
  • Review annual cleanse materials, including data changes, premium calculations, and surrender amounts, ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop bespoke Excel models to validate onboarding and ongoing materials from the strategic reinsurance platform.
  • Reconcile premiums and claims on legacy reinsurance arrangements, draft reports, and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and continuously improve processes used by the team, ensuring efficiency and appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with the New Business Reinsurance team to ensure new contracts are operationally viable.
  • Train new and existing team members on operational developments.
  • Ensure all processes and templates are well documented with proper audit trails and version control.
  • Support ad-hoc project work as needed.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong technical knowledge of our reinsurance platform.
  • Experience in the pensions, life, and longevity reinsurance space.
  • Proven ability to administer reinsurance arrangements accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pension de-risking products like bulk annuities and longevity swaps is desirable.
