Lanes Group is seeking a Reinstatement Manager to lead on-site reinstatement teams for the United Utilities contracts, delivering first-time quality and cost-effective solutions.

You will coordinate labour, materials and sub-contractors, manage safety investigations and KPIs, and work with the scheduling team to keep programmes on track.

A full clean driving licence, Street Works qualification and strong communication skills are essential to drive performance and a safe, compliant operation.

  • Support KPI achievement and attend client and council meetings.
  • Perform audits and coach teams to ensure quality and behaviours.
  • Coordinate with Support Services and Streetworks to manage liabilities.
  • Act as Health & Safety Representative and lead safety inspections.
  • Cover reinstatement aspects, including black top and white top.

Department:

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.

United Utilities operates across a number of contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan.
The Team support reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.

Purpose of the role:

As a Reinstatement Manager, you will be working to meet the needs of the client’s SLA’s in the most productive and cost-effective manner. You will be helping to provide technical expertise, experience, and work within a team to deliver a first-class service to our customers. You will be able to engineer solutions on site and focus your teams on completing work correctly, first time. You will work with the scheduling team ensuring programmes are managed and delivered accordingly. You will provide support to ensure that the company’s work is effectively completed through communication with internal and external customers, as well as the management of the business and client database systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will have operational responsibility for the reinstatement teams and their in-day activities.
  • Organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages, and absence management.
  • You will manage all other resources e.g., sub-contractors, materials, and plant.
  • Assist with carrying out team briefings with teams, on a monthly basis.
  • Assisting in coaching and developing staff to reach their potential. Ensure a fair and consistent culture with the teams.
  • You will help to assist the defect programme and ensure that KPIs are met and client meetings and council meetings are attended.
  • Assist in carrying out documented audits, checking quality of the work and coaching teams/individuals to ensure the right behaviours are always exhibited.
  • Liaise with the Support Services and Streetworks Team to ensure that FPN and Section74 liabilities are managed
  • You will be required to assist the reinstatements manager by being a Health & Safety Representative, which will include undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health & safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents as and when they occur.
  • Covering all aspects of reinstatements, including black top and white top.
Key Requirements
Skill and Experience:
  • Experience within a similar role is preferred
  • Street works card
  • A full clean driving licence is essential.
  • You will be IT literate and be a confident communicator at all levels
  • An excellent work ethic is a must.
