Job summary

Battersea Old Windsor's cattery seeks a Rehoming & Welfare Assistant to provide the highest standard of animal husbandry, care and enrichment to the cats in our care.

You will help ready cats for rehoming through observation, temperament assessments and up-to-date records, while working with a passionate team to ensure compassionate intake and care. The role involves physical tasks and resilience, in a supportive environment.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks as part of animal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest standard of animal husbandry, care and enrichment to cats in our care.
• Observe and record insightful behaviour observations for temperament assessments and up-to-date animal records.
• Assist with intake and care to support rehoming into loving homes.
• Support the team with daily welfare tasks and ensure a calm, cat-friendly environment.

Job description

Battersea Old Windsor's cattery is looking for someone to join the team as a Rehoming & Welfare Assistant, to provide the highest standard of animal husbandry, care and enrichment to the cats in our care, and ensure that they are ready for rehoming as quickly as possible through observing and recording insightful behaviour observations, forming temperament assessments and ensuring animal records are up to date.

They will be part of a passionate team that cares for every cat through their journey at Battersea, from a calm and compassionate intake, to providing feline friendly care whilst they are onsite, and finally to rehoming them to loving new homes.

It is important to note that the role does involve a lot of physical tasks which are required to provide the exceptional standards of care to our animals.
