This post, working under the guidance of the registered nurse and the therapy lead, supports the Inpatient Unit team to deliver high quality person centred care and a range of interventions to meet the needs of patients within the IPU setting using a holistic approach.

Qualifications

• Contributes to a range of rehabilitative interventions for IPU patients using a holistic approach.
• Part of a multidisciplinary team providing end-of-life and palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Inpatient Unit team to deliver care in a rehabilitative palliative setting.
• Engages with patients and families to meet needs during end-of-life care.
• Rotas include weekends and night shifts as part of a 30–36 hour/week rota.

Rehabilitative Palliative Nursing Assistant

Title: Rehabilitative Palliative Nursing Assistant
Salary: £19,984 – £23,981 pa (Depending on Hours) – plus enhancements – Saturday-midnight to midnight + weekdays after 8pm and before 6am = 30% Sunday + Public Holidays = 60%.

Location: Tapping House, Wheatfields, Hillington
Hours of work: 30-36 hours per week (Monday to Sunday) – Hours to be worked on a rota basis including weekends, bank holidays and nights.

Annual Leave: 25 days increasing to 27 after 5 years’ service and 29 after 9 years’ service + 8 days in lieu of public holidays (FTE)

The Dr Hugh Ford Inpatient Unit has nine beds, dedicated to delivering outstanding palliative and end of life care.

This post, working under the guidance of the registered nurse and the therapy lead, supports the Inpatient Unit team to deliver high quality person centred care and a range of interventions to meet the needs of patients within the IPU setting using a holistic approach. The post holder plays a critical role in empowering the IPU team to embed the principles of rehabilitative palliative care.
