Location: Northampton

Salary: From £24,483 per annum, plus shift enhancements

Hours: Full time

Purpose of Role

As a Rehab Support Worker, you will assist patients with daily activities, including organizing personal affairs and accompanying them on off-ward activities to empower their skills for community reintegration.

You will work with Occupational Therapists to promote mobility, self-care, productivity, leisure, and daily activities. Supporting individuals to live independently is a rewarding career.

You will report to the Ward Manager and collaborate closely with the MDT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help patients maximize independence and develop skills in personal hygiene, financial management, healthy living, tenancy, and community skills.
  • Create daily/weekly planners for effective time management.
  • Partner with healthcare teams, patients, carers, and families to monitor assessments, modify care plans, and communicate observations.
  • Inform patients about community services, engage with families regarding support, and contribute to service improvements.
About You

We seek individuals with:

  • Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired individuals.
  • Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL) or personal experience as D/deaf.

BSL skills and understanding of Deaf Culture are essential. Experience in mental health settings, relationship-building skills, problem-solving, honesty, respect, and clear communication are required. Candidates should have a Care Certificate or Level 2 Qualification and be computer literate.
