Job summary

A healthcare provider in Waltham Forest is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner to join their multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will support patient rehabilitation by working closely with therapists and offer care to patients recently discharged from hospital. This position is part-time and offers competitive remuneration, including additional pay for working in a high-cost area.

Qualifications

Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to be part of the Waltham Forest Rehabilitation Service.

The Waltham Forest Rehabilitation Service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Assistants and Rehabilitation Practitioners.

The team provide short term intensive rehabilitation to patients in their own homes following a period of illness or injury. You will have support from and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient centred rehabilitation programmes.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who has:

  • Relevant experience in a health and social care setting and base level of Occupational therapy/Physiotherapy knowledge
  • Knowledge of patient/client conditions relevant to community rehabilitation
  • Ability to work under own direction
  • Able to travel to meet the need of the role

The successful candidate will work alongside the therapy staff to promote independence and improve function for people recently discharged from hospital.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 - per annum, pro rata for part time).

Experience

Knowledge
  • An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities
  • Knowledge of patient/client conditions relevant to the community setting

  • Understand the need for professional conduct
