Job summary

DWR Cymru Cyfyngedig Welsh Water Plc is seeking a Solicitor (Operations) to provide legal advice and support across the organisation, helping to deliver strategic and operational objectives in a lawful, ethical and commercially sound manner.

Reporting to the Senior Solicitor (Operations), the post holder will handle governance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in legal service delivery, supervise junior lawyers, and contribute to horizon scanning and responses to customer and

Responsibilities

Provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice on contentious and non-contentious matters.
Support regulatory enforcement and prosecution activity (as prosecutor and defence).
Conduct commercial, customer and property disputes/litigation and enforcement matters under supervision.
Instruct external legal advisers.
Prepare cases to support statutory rights and powers in relation to land and assets.
Supervise and mentor junior legal professionals; support workload management.
Horizon scanning for legal and regulatory change; assess impact on the organisation.
Prepare responses to complaints requiring legal interpretation; perform legal research and interpretation.
Non-contentious legal drafting; maintain precedents, guidance notes and know-how libraries.
