Legal Director – Regulatory & Compliance

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Director to join a leading Scottish law firm within its Dispute Resolution & Risk practice.

This role sits in a specialist team advising on compliance, regulatory and public law matters, with a strong reputation for handling high-profile and sensitive work across both private and public sectors.

You will provide criminal law advice and representation, with responsibilities spanning from drafting legal arguments and managing investigations to representing clients in court. You will work closely with colleagues and clients across a wide range of sectors, developing trusted relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing a varied caseload of criminal, regulatory and compliance matters
  • Drafting advice and pleadings and presenting legal arguments with clarity and precision
  • Representing clients before courts, tribunals and regulatory bodies
  • Engaging in negotiations with regulators, law enforcement and third parties
  • Supporting team members and contributing to practice development
About You
  • Strong experience in criminal law with knowledge of court procedures in Scotland
  • Excellent advocacy, drafting and research skills
  • Commercially aware with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload with autonomy
  • Qualification as a Solicitor Advocate would be advantageous
