The Role and Our Team

We ensure businesses comply with regulations, helping to keep products safe and protect the environment. Our work involves supporting businesses with information, and taking enforcement action when necessary, to protect people and places.

As a Regulatory Enforcement Trainee, you will work across three different teams, gaining diverse experience in a high-profile national regulatory environment. This role is part of our Apprenticeship Programme, leading to a Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer qualification, equivalent to the first year of university. We support your development to become a future enforcement officer and leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist businesses in understanding and complying with regulations by providing advice and support.
• Inspect products and businesses for compliance, assessing risks and determining appropriate actions.
• Support enforcement cases by investigating non-compliance and taking enforcement actions as needed.
• Communicate with businesses and partner organizations to resolve issues.
• Read, understand, and produce reports based on inspections and projects.
• Collaborate with enforcement teams and other departments to enhance impact.
• Develop regulatory skills through the Apprenticeship and ongoing professional development.
