Housing Services at Oxford City Council

Housing Services at Oxford City Council is undergoing significant transformation and improvement. Following a significant restructure, we are now looking to recruit two exciting new roles to enhance and further improve our service delivery to residents.

The first role - the Housing Strategy and Performance Lead - is a brand-new position that will work closely with the Director, leading all aspects of the housing directorate's strategic work.

This role will be supported by an additional position - a Regulatory Compliance Officer - which will collaborate with colleagues to ensure our compliance with the SHA and new Standards.

Regulatory Compliance Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new Housing Strategy and Performance Team as a Regulatory Compliance Officer. You will support the development, delivery, and implementation of a quality assurance and improvement programme across the Council’s Housing Directorate, to ensure that we deliver core functions in accordance with regulation and realize our continuous improvement goals.

Your professional accountability is to provide assurance that the council is compliant with all statutory and regulatory housing requirements, developing action plans and remediations where deficiencies are identified, taking enabling and direct actions to ensure that we deliver a high-quality, safe, modern, and preventative housing service, which positively impacts tenants and residents.

You should have broad and detailed knowledge of all aspects of local authority housing services, from homelessness and allocations to maintenance and repairs, especially regarding the Social Housing Regulation Act in relation to housing and asset management.

You will be highly organized, innovative, and an intelligent problem solver, familiar with project and programme management skills, and an excellent communicator capable of preparing strategies, formal reports for members, and presentations for colleagues and residents.
