Job summary

Gateley is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its Professional Regulation and Standards team in the UK. You will promote regulatory compliance, support colleagues across the business, and help manage professional conduct and regulatory issues.

The role involves policy maintenance, monitoring, and horizon scanning in a forward-thinking environment, with emphasis on confidentiality and information security.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills across audiences
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound judgement
• Proficiency with MS Office and comfort learning new systems
• Knowledge of legal/regulatory requirements for professional services

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain policies and procedures to stay current
• Provide practical compliance support and guidance across the business
• Identify and manage professional conduct and regulatory issues, escalating when needed
• Assist with conflicts of interest reviews and client onboarding queries
• Support regulatory reporting, investigations, approvals and notifications
• Maintain regulatory registers and conduct monitoring, audits and reviews
• Prepare internal compliance bulletins and regulatory updates
• Develop understanding of obligations of regulators such as the SRA, RICS and IPReg
