Job Description:
This role involves ensuring compliance across client’s product ranges including cosmetics, consumer electronics, hardlines, and toys. The analyst will interpret and implement complex regulatory requirements across multiple product categories and markets, providing on-site support to the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory team within the client’s H&S team.
Main Duties:
- Regulatory Monitoring and Interpretation:
- Stay updated on UK, European, and international regulations like UK Cosmetics Regulation, UKCA/CE marking, Toy Safety Directive, RoHS, REACH, EMC, LVD, GPSD.
- Assess the impact of regulatory updates on current and future products.
- Compliance Execution:
- Review and update labelling standards to ensure compliance with ingredient restrictions, claims, and packaging standards.
- Validate packaging compliance and report on packaging tax liabilities.
- Manage testing programs for safety standards, age grading, and testing protocols for small parts, heavy metals, and flammability.
- Support third-party testing, certifications, declarations of conformity, and risk assessments.
- Documentation and Technical Files:
- Maintain technical files, safety data sheets, product information files, and regulatory reports.
- Coordinate inspections and manage compliance documentation across SKUs and regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate compliance early in product development.
- Advise on product claims, advertising standards, and legal labelling, ensuring they are evidence-based.
- Communicate with external bodies like test labs, notified bodies, and UK authorities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field preferred.
- Experience in regulatory compliance for consumer products, especially in cosmetics, formulated products, electronics, or toys.
- Experience with regulatory databases and submission platforms (e.g., SCPN, CPNP, RAPEX).
- Familiarity with global compliance frameworks like CE marking, REACH, Prop 65, CLP, ISO 22716.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple product categories and commute twice a week to Coventry.

This is an office-based role working two days off-site at the retailer, with core hours from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
