Job summary

Maritime and Coastguard Agency seeks a SEO Regulatory Analyst to join its Economic Analysis Team within Finance and Analysis. You will provide robust economic and analytical advice to inform regulatory programmes and policy delivery across the maritime sector.

The role involves leading analytical inputs for Impact Assessments, Post Implementation Reviews, and assurance across the Agency, working with colleagues from policy, operations and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Analytical mindset and ability to interpret data to inform policy.
  • Experience supporting impact assessments or regulatory reviews is desirable.
  • Ability to work across policy, operational and analytical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Providing analytical input and assurance in line with the MCA Analytical Assurance Framework.
  • Delivering analysis for Impact Assessments and Post Implementation Reviews.
  • Supporting the MCA's response to the Government's Regulatory Action Plan.
  • Quantifying the economic impact of regulations, including administrative costs to business.
  • Building understanding of strategic and operational drivers across the Agency.
  • Developing trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Embedding good analytical practice in line with HM Treasury guidance.
  • Supporting delivery of the MCA Analytical Strategy and wider economic analysis priorities.

Job description

Can you provide high-quality analysis to support effective regulation and evidence-based decision making? Do you have experience of applying analytical expertise to impact assessments, policy development or regulatory review? If so, we'd love to hear from you! The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is seeking a SEO Regulatory Analyst to join its Economic Analysis Team within Finance and Analysis. The role supports the MCA's regulatory programme by providing robust economic and analytical advice, helping to ensure regulations, codes of practice and guidance are informed by high-quality evidence. You will work closely with policy, operational and analytical colleagues across the Agency and wider Department for Transport, supporting impact assessments, post implementation reviews and analytical assurance. This is an opportunity to contribute to work that supports maritime safety, environmental protection and the MCA's wider public service responsibilities.
