Job summary

Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Southampton is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to lead robust analysis for the MCA regulatory programme and to support policy delivery in the maritime sector.

You will work with the Economic Analysis Team to deliver priority projects, strengthen analytical capability and promote continuous improvement across the Agency and wider Department for Transport.

Qualifications

• Understand the Better Regulations Framework and deliver impact assessments.
• Strong Excel skills with ability to perform complex analyses.
• Experience in delivering analytical input for policy and regulatory work.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical input and assurance following the MCA Analytical Assurance Framework.
• Deliver analysis for Impact Assessments and Post Implementation Reviews.
• Support MCA responses to the Government Regulatory Action Plan.
• Quantify the economic impact of regulations and administrative costs to business.
• Build understanding of strategic and operational drivers across the Agency.
• Develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Embed good analytical practice in line with HM Treasury guidance.
