Position Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist reports directly to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs. This role involves reviewing regulatory matters for ASR Group products, primarily in the UK and EU. It acts as the liaison with authorities, consultants, and professional bodies on regulatory issues and participates in compliance initiatives.

This position offers excellent opportunities to collaborate with international colleagues in Europe and the US. It also involves engaging in projects related to specification systems and offers room for growth and development, given its new role status.

The individual will contribute to implementing key legislative changes, provide excellent customer service, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Write, review, and approve packaging copy, online product information, and marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
  2. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and regulations in the UK, EU, and GFSI (BRC), as well as Organic, Fairtrade, Halal, and Kosher certifications.
  3. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assess their impact, and update senior management accordingly.
  4. Support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for ingredients and products in the UK and EU, ensuring compliance.
  5. Review product compliance, including aspects like novel food status, claims, labeling, and specific application statuses.
  6. Support the design and maintenance of technical specifications and other documentation within the Product Lifecycle Management Software (PLM), ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  7. Provide regulatory training and guidance to the quality and technical teams in Europe.
Work Experience Requirements
  1. Demonstrable experience in regulatory affairs is preferred.
  2. Recent experience in the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods industry is highly desirable.
  3. Experience in reviewing technical specifications and creating related documents.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  5. Knowledge of the Food & Beverage or CPG industry is strongly preferred.
