Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Provides international regulatory position, perspective, and expertise related to advertising and promotion to internal and external customers/business partners. Maintains current knowledge of international codes of practice, regulations, and guidance that impact pharmaceutical advertising and promotion.
  2. Collaborates and communicates effectively through all levels of management across multiple functions (Commercial, Medical, Legal, and Compliance). Recognized as a key resource on pharmaceutical advertising and promotion. Applies creative problem-solving methods, balancing business needs with risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
  3. Manages a team responsible for reviewing and signing off on advertising and promotional materials for international marketed and development compounds, ensuring compliance and appropriate risk management.
  4. Maintains current knowledge of international codes of practice, regulations, and guidance. Ensures compliance and provides input into brand strategies and key initiatives.
  5. Evaluates the global industry environment and competitive landscape, providing insights and leading risk management strategies for international advertising and promotion activities.
  6. Leads operations, initiatives, and strategies for the International Regulatory Affairs Advertising and Promotion team.
  7. Shares best practices and contributes to marketing campaign development from concept to execution in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  8. Provides guidance on international codes to affiliate markets and presents competitive landscape analyses to foster team learning.
  9. Supports departmental strategies, quality initiatives, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
  10. Creates an environment that attracts, retains, and develops future leaders within Regulatory Advertising and Promotion.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 7-10 years of pharmaceutical experience with at least 5 years in advertising and promotion regulatory roles.
  • Bachelor's Degree in science or related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred. UK medical practitioner or pharmacist registration is a plus.
  • Registered signatory or qualified to become one; experience with Abbvie signatory qualifications is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of advertising and promotion regulations and international codes of practice.
  • Strong management skills with 3-5 years in leadership roles.
  • Experience across product lifecycle stages and in complex, matrix environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
