Role Description

This is a remote role for a Regulation 44 Visitor at STEPS with Children on a contractor basis, with the view to move to a full time role. The Regulation 44 Visitor will be responsible for conducting visits to children's homes and residential settings, ensuring compliance with regulations, assessing the well-being of children, and providing support and recommendations as needed. The visitor will be responsible for completing visits and returning completed reports within regulated and agreed timescales.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations
  • Knowledge of Residential Childcare
  • Knowledge child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally challenge
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience working with children or in a related field
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, child care, or a similar field
  • An Enhanced DBS, including Children's Barred List, on the update service
  • Has access to own vehicle with business insurance
  • Has access to a laptop and Microsoft Word for report writing
  • Strong report writing skills
