A leading veterinary practice in Retford is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse. The role involves nurse consultations, theatre nursing, and assisting with imaging and lab work. If you're already confident in Schedule 3 procedures, you'll have the opportunity to carry them out – or we’ll support you in developing your skills to get there.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a varied rota that includes weekend and out-of-hours responsibilities. You'll work a mix of day shifts and occasional night shifts, with time off in lieu for weekend work.
Portland House Veterinary Group has been proudly serving the Retford community for over 50 years, providing a wide range of veterinary services across small animal, farm, equine, and wildlife park clients. Our main practice, located in the heart of Retford, is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital DR X-ray, ultrasound with Doppler and ECG, video endoscopy, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory.
We're also looking ahead to an exciting future, as we prepare to move into a brand-new, purpose-built small animal facility – currently under construction – which will further enhance our capabilities and create even more opportunities for professional development.
Across our four practices, we’re a team of over 40 staff, including 16 Vets (including certificate holders), 13 RVNs, SVNs, and VCAs. We pride ourselves on fostering a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment.
We’re looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who is confident in all aspects of general nursing, eager to continue developing professionally, and comfortable with occasional lone working and inpatient care.
