We are looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Shield Veterinary Centre.

The Role

This is a varied role that includes:

  • Nurse Consultations
  • Anaesthesia
  • Inpatient Care
  • Laboratory Work

You’ll be working across both of our branches, just a 15-minute drive apart, and there’s also an exciting opportunity to train as a Clinical Coach, supporting the development of future veterinary nurses.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with excellent all-round nursing skills and a strong passion for animal care. As an enthusiastic and pro-active team member, you'll seamlessly integrate into our team, supporting your colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, enabling you to manage tasks efficiently while effectively interacting with both the team and clients.

About Us

Our team is made up of 5 Vets, 9 Nurses, and 8 Receptionists, working collaboratively across two well-equipped branches. Our nursing team brings a fantastic mix of experience, from newly qualified RVNs to those with over 15 years in practice, creating a supportive and knowledge-rich environment.

Location Perks

Situated between Southampton and Portsmouth, our practices are ideally located with easy rail links to London, and access to the stunning South Coast, including the New Forest and nearby beaches, perfect for a great work-life balance.

Working Hours

The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, typically structured as four 8.5-hour shifts and one 5-hour shift. You’ll also benefit from a fixed afternoon off each week. There is a Saturday morning rota of 1 in 4.
