Responsibilities
- As a Rotating Nurse, you will thrive in a diverse and multi-disciplinary referral environment, working across Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Wards, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology and Imaging.
- Monitor sedations/anaesthetics; provide exceptional inpatient care; assist with imaging procedures (x-ray/ultrasound/CT/MRI); contribute to transfusion medicine; support diagnostic procedures; manage admits/discharges.
- Participate in drug calculations, fluid calculations, and CRI administration.
Facilities
- Pride Veterinary Referrals is equipped with industry-leading facilities and advanced diagnostic tools, including 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, a comprehensive imaging suite (CT, MRI & digital x-ray), 3 ultrasound rooms, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills, and dedicated chemo & radio-iodine treatment rooms.
- In-patient wards are large, air-conditioned, well-equipped and meet the highest RCVS and ISFM standards. Dedicated canine and feline procedure rooms enable examinations and minor procedures away from other patients.

Applicant requirements
- Qualified RVN with ideally at least 1 year of post-graduation experience; some aspects of the role involve independent work.
- Experience of working in a hospital is required.
- Additional qualifications or certificates are advantageous; ability to demonstrate clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.
Working pattern
Our Rotating Nurse will work on average 38 hours per week, over a 4-day working week. Shifts typically include 08:00-17:30, 08:30-18:00 and 08:30-19:00 during the week, plus a 1:6 weekend rota in our wards department (Saturday & Sunday, 07:45-18:00). Approximately 1 Friday in every 8 weeks, you will cover the Twilight shift (3pm-12am) with on-call for the rest of the evening, supplemented as overtime if called out.
