Job summary

Forest Vets is recruiting a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join the Epping hospital team. This role offers a busy, referral-standard environment with exposure to medical and surgical cases, supporting a wide range of diagnostics and procedures.

You will work a unique night pattern (7 nights on, 14 nights off) with shifts 18:30–08:30 and a 2-hour night break. The hospital values development, collaboration, and exceptional patient care within Linnaeus’ network.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with RCVS registration.
• Experience in a busy hospital environment.
• Comfortable working nights independently.
• Excellent patient and client care.

Responsibilities

• Delivering inpatient and surgical nursing care during night shifts.
• Support a varied medical and surgical caseload.
• Monitor and care for hospitalised patients overnight.
• Assist with advanced procedures including endoscopy, CT and diagnostic imaging.
• Work closely with Veterinary Surgeons and wider clinical team.
• Contribute to smooth day-to-day running of the hospital.
• Support student nurses and junior team members as appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Annualised salary of approximately £32,554.05 per annum

We are excited to be recruiting for a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our fantastic team at Epping branch. This is a well-rounded, fast-paced hospital nursing role that offers exposure to a wide range of medical and surgical cases, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced RVN looking to develop their skills in a modern referral-standard environment.

The role offers a unique working pattern of 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off, providing an excellent balance between work and personal time while allowing you to become an integral part of our dedicated hospital nursing team.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding hospital nursing position where no two nights are the same. We're looking for a confident and experienced RVN who enjoys working in a busy hospital setting and is passionate about providing outstanding patient and client care.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering high standards of inpatient and surgical nursing care throughout the night.

As part of Forest Vets, flexibility is important. While this role is based at our Harlow, our nurses may occasionally be required to work across our branch practices to support the wider team.

This position is focused on providing dedicated overnight care for our hospitalised patients, with shifts running from 18:30–08:30 and a 2-hour break during the night.
