Job summary

Begbroke Vet Surgery is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, joining a friendly team just outside North Oxford.

You will deliver high-quality nursing care, support vets with surgical and dental procedures, run nurse consultations, and contribute to preventative healthcare while developing patient care within the practice in a 40-hour week pattern.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
• Support surgical and dental procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
• Run nurse consultations and support preventative healthcare
• Assist with diagnostics, including laboratory work, x-ray and dental x-ray
