Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care seeks a proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Oakfield Veterinary Surgery in Tamworth on a full-time fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. You’ll deliver high-quality nursing care, support surgeons, and contribute to patient wellbeing in a collaborative team.

The base practice is Oakfield Vets in Tamworth with occasional work at Atherstone and Castle Bromwich branches. RCVS registration and clinical nursing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
• Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery.
• Assist with diagnostics, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound and laboratory work.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Oakfield Veterinary Surgery in Tamworth on a full-time, fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Oakfield Veterinary Surgery is a long-standing practice with a loyal client base and a fantastic team. We are constantly looking to improve and strive to offer our patients the best care we can, with a strong focus on clinical standards, teamwork and patient wellbeing.

Your base practice will be Oakfield Vets in Tamworth, with some work also required at our Atherstone and Castle Bromwich branches. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced and collaborative team, with the opportunity to continue learning and developing within a supportive environment.

Practice Highlights

• Long-standing practice with a loyal client base
• Team includes 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 15 nurses, 1 VCA, 4 receptionists, a Client Coordinator, Mental Health First Aider, Canine Behaviourists, certificate holders and an Advanced Practitioner
• Well-equipped facilities including digital radiography, dental radiography, laser and ultrasound with cardiac probe
• ISFM Silver Cat Friendly accredited practice

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 38.33 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, working 8-hour shifts with a 20-minute unpaid break -Example shifts include 8:00am to 4:00pm, 9:00am to 5:00pm, 10:00am to 6:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm
• 1 in 5 Saturday rota between 8:30am and 4:30pm
• Closed Sundays and bank holidays

General Responsibilities
