Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in small animal practices.
  • Ability to perform a variety of nursing tasks including post-op checks and nurse consults.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to learn and grow.

  • Perform nurse consults, administer 2nd vaccinations and perform post-op checks.
  • Manage scheduling of procedures and conduct bandage changes.

Job description

Are you looking to further develop your skill set and become part of a close-knit and talented team? Our thriving and friendly small animal practice in Torquay is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us.

About the role:

Our purpose-built practice is equipped with a dedicated theatre, digital x-rays, ultrasound, dental x-rays, and IDEXX haematology and biochemistry. Our busy practice offers advanced in-house surgical, medical, imaging, and dental services, providing a true all-round general practice experience.

We have a varied and interesting caseload, offering opportunities to develop your experience and fully utilize your nursing skills, including nurse consults, 2nd vaccinations, post-op checks, bandage changes, weight clinics, scheduling procedures, radiography, COHAT, etc. Join us to use your skills with the support of a brilliant team.

This is ideally a full-time position with just 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday mornings in practice / Saturday afternoons & Sunday on call), with time off in lieu and no out-of-hours.

About us:

You will join a team of 4 vets with 19 and 10 years of experience, 2 nurses, 1 head nurse, 2 student nurses, 2 veterinary care assistants, 1 head receptionist, 4 client care advisors, and 1 practice manager. We are a close-knit, collaborative team with a great sense of humor.
