Job description

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys a varied role? Would you like to run your own consultations and perform Schedule 3 procedures?

We encourage our nurses to work to their full potential and to take on responsibilities as they feel able. This approach provides great job satisfaction and invaluable experience and training for the future. We value the skills nurses bring to the clinic and promote initiative and autonomy. The practice is keen to increase nurse involvement in client consultations, so an interest in this area (though not essential) would be highly advantageous.

Our RCVS registered Tier 3 hospital is fully equipped, including dental x-ray and ultrasound facilities. We have a dedicated theatre suite with two theatres and offer a wide range of orthopaedic, soft tissue, and diagnostic procedures. We are a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, with cat-only waiting areas and wards in both surgical and hospital areas.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, including 1 in 4 weekends (with TOIL). The shifts are on a rota and will vary across the clinic (a mix of lates and earlies), providing experience and confidence in all areas of general practice. No night shifts are required, as we have a dedicated night team. We are looking for someone with hospital experience or someone eager to develop in that area; however, we are open to newly qualified nurses. We are a nurse training practice and utilize our nurses to their full potential, developing careers—training to place catheters, take bloods, and manage anesthesia, with opportunities to develop in Schedule 3 procedures. We are expanding our exotic cases and have had some very interesting cases.
