NEW Registered Veterinary Nurse opportunity – Cambridge - Up to £30,000 - Join a Supportive and Independent Practice

Are you a qualified RVN seeking a role where your skills are fully utilised, your input is valued, and your development is actively encouraged? Whether you’re recently qualified or have a few years under your belt, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy, forward-thinking small animal practice.

This independently run group is built on strong clinical values, with decision-making kept in the hands of the team – not directed by corporate targets. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive environment where collaboration and patient care are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on setting. You’ll be working across a wide range of responsibilities, from anaesthesia and inpatient care to nurse consults and client education. We aim to support and develop our nursing team by ensuring every nurse works to their full potential – so you won’t find yourself stuck doing just one thing.

The rota offers a 4-day working week, with 10-hour shifts, a paid lunch break, and a fixed day off wherever possible. Shift times are typically 8am–6pm or 9am–7pm. While the majority of your time will be spent at your main site, there may be occasional cover at a nearby sister branch to support holidays or sickness.

Key Responsibilities
Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical procedures
Delivering high-quality inpatient care and recovery support
Running nurse-led consults and promoting preventative healthcare
Performing diagnostic tests and maintaining clinical records
Upholding infection control and general clinical standards
Contributing to team meetings, training, and ongoing developmentYou’ll be supported by experienced team members including RVNs, vets, and support staff, with the freedom to contribute to clinical discussions and decision-making. There’s also room to shape the role around your interests, whether that’s inpatient care, consults, or further study.

About You
You are a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse
You’re a team player with excellent communication and organisation skills
You’re confident in a clinical setting and eager to continue learning

Salary & Benefits
Salary from £27,000 to £30,000, depending on experience
