Job summary

IVC Evidensia at Gordon Vets in Musselburgh near Edinburgh is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal practice on a full-time basis. You’ll deliver high-quality nursing care, support clinicians, and contribute to a friendly, client-focused team.

You’ll work 40 hours across four days with one in five weekends, with no out-of-hours shifts. Our well-equipped clinics provide digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, and opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • RCVS registration required.
  • Experience in clinical practice with medical/surgical nursing is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients.
  • Support veterinary surgeons and clinical team.
  • Manage nursing duties including post-op care, anaesthetic monitoring, and lab work.
  • Maintain infection control and equipment care.
  • Conduct nurse consultations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Gordon Vets on a full-timebasis.

We are a well-established 3-branch small animal clinic on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We have 132 nurses working across our 3 branch surgeries, 16 vets and 1 VCA. Both our Musselburgh and Penicuik sites are nurse training practices.

Our practices are well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound (including echo) and in-house lab. We offer laparoscopic spays, endoscopy and orthopaedic surgeries at our main surgery in Musselburgh. Client and patient care are our main focus and we do that by offering a friendly and supportive environment to work in.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 40 hours per week
  • Working 4 days per week
  • 1 in 5 weekend rota

General Responsibilities
