Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Middlesbrough Vets for Pets practice for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and welcoming team.

We are looking for a nurse to join us on a full-time basis working 4 days a week, from 8:30 am to 7 pm, Tuesday to Friday, with Mondays off. This will include working 1 in 6 Saturdays (9 am to 12:30 pm), in sole charge with the support of a veterinary surgeon and receptionist.

About Us:

We are located on Marton Road, Middlesbrough, with excellent transport links and the benefits of both a vibrant city and rural surroundings, including the North York Moors and beaches nearby.

The practice is well established, partner-owned for 15 years, and thriving with a wide variety of interesting medical and surgical cases. You will join an experienced team led by Kat Goldsbrough MRCVS, including 3 Vets, 5 Nurses working on a 3, 2, and 4 schedule, along with 3 student nurses fully supported by 4 Client Care Advisors.

We are currently undergoing a full refurbishment, which includes a dedicated nurse consulting room, a state-of-the-art dental X-ray suite, and a new reception area designed for client and staff comfort. We are also introducing a modern colleague room for staff relaxation and recharging. It’s an exciting time to join us as we grow and invest in our facilities and team!

About the role:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your nursing skills fully, including admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, recovery, and discharge. Assistance from ANAs and an SVN will be available for theatre turnaround and patient prep.

Our nursing team aims to achieve job satisfaction through in-depth nursing clinics, anaesthesia, radiology, and laboratory work, with three scheduled procedures. Experience in these areas is preferred.

In return, we can offer:

  • Competitive salary range of £26,000 to £30,000 (Pro Rata), depending on experience
  • No OOH or overnight in-patient checks
  • Generous CPD allowance, including funded Certificates
  • Social events and a focus on wellbeing
  • Contributory pension schemes
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
  • Exclusive discounts and rewards

If you are passionate about delivering outstanding pet healthcare and excellent customer service, we would love to hear from you!

Benefits:

We offer a 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room, access to discounts and cashback offers, in-house career development opportunities, pension, and holiday allowance.

We celebrate diversity and inclusion, reflecting the communities we serve. If you meet the role requirements or believe you can contribute through your values and behaviors, we want to hear from you!
