Job summary

Avonvale Veterinary Centres, Heathcote, is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the Linnaeus team. This 40-hour position offers a dynamic and supportive environment with opportunities to develop clinical skills across a busy practice.

As an RVN, you will work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons and a dedicated nursing team, with a focus on exceptional patient care, client communication, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with current registration.
• Demonstrated passion for animal care and client communication.
• Experience in a small animal practice is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standards of nurse care for our small animal patients.
• Support surgeons during procedures and manage anaesthesia and monitoring.
• Deliver client care, recall appointments and vaccinations as needed.
• Participate in rota including nights or weekends as required.

Here at Avonvale, we have an excellent opportunity to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team! We are currently looking for an RVN to join our team at Heathcote. We are a group of seven Primary Care Practices based around the county of Warwickshire. With over 40 years' experience, our RCVS qualified vets and nurses are dedicated to looking after small animals and their needs. Having multiple certificate holders in surgery, imaging, and medicine, we take pride in continuously developing our employees' skills and interests within the veterinary industry.

Your Role And Responsibilities

Due to our skilled team of Veterinary Surgeons holding various Certificates, we see a vast array of cases and refer very few, meaning you will be exposed to a wide variety of procedures and advanced nursing techniques. Our nurse team, equally as skilled in their areas of expertise, also boasts some fantastic longevity in service, one of our team having been with us for over 35 years.

We pride ourselves in our full nurse utilisation incorporating consults as well as schedule 3 etc into your working day providing our nursing population with great job satisfaction. Our nurse team includes people with interests in a wide variety of areas including anaesthesia, Emergency and Client Care and behaviour and therefore opens opportunities to you to grow your skills and expertise alongside our experienced team. We are also supported by our wonderful Patient Care Assistants (PCA) who work alongside our RVNs to achieve the highest standards of care for our patients.

The position will include some out of hours work and would suit a self-motivated RVN with their own transport who is keen to develop their skills. You can choose between nights or weekends. In return, we offer a competitive salary, relaxed 1:13 weekend and 1:10 nights rota 1:8 Saturday pm rota plus Saturday mornings 1:7 at branch dependent on requirements at the individual branches. Weekends and nights are based at the Warwick hospital.
