Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us on a 12-month Maternity Cover at the newly refurbished clinics of Gourley Veterinary Surgeons based in Ashton-under-Lyne and Denton.

This exciting opportunity is a full-time role, working approximately 38.5 hours per week and offering a salary of up to £30,000 FTE dependent on experience plus benefits.

You will be joining our established team on a 12-month Maternity Cover and will enjoy being part of a friendly, welcoming and supportive team, within a spacious practice. We are well equipped, with up-to-date equipment, are forward thinking and this role offers all aspects of general practice nursing.

The role…

  1. Provide high-quality nursing care to a variety of patients
  2. Assist our Vets during surgical and medical procedures
  3. Monitor and support the recovery of patients post-surgery
  4. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  5. Support and collaborate with your peers
  6. Contribute to the efficient running of the practice, including inventory management and client communication
  7. Support and run nursing clinics

You'll bring…
  1. Must be RCVS registered or equivalent
  2. A passion for animal care and welfare

Our practice is in Tameside, Greater Manchester and has excellent transport links to Manchester and Stockport city centres, along with Manchester airport.

We are supported by MiNightVets Manchester for our out of hours emergencies.


Salary and Hours:

The salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.

Full-time hours for this role are 38.5 hours per week and working 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am – 7pm and Saturdays 9am – 4pm.

Part time opportunities also available.
