Job summary

London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is seeking a Regular Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse for the Westmount Hemodialysis Unit. The successful candidate will provide patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team and uphold high standards of safety and documentation.

Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse supports patient centered care in the Renal Dialysis Unit. The Registered Practical Nurse acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide patient/family centered care.

Regular Part-Time

• Rate of Pay: $37.10 per hour - $37.77 per hour

Part-time employees receive a percentage in lieu of vacation and benefits, providing additional compensation on top of regular wages

• Hours of work: No guarantee of hours

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of General Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)
• Demonstrated knowledge of recent nursing experience in an acute medicine environment
• One-year recent related Hemodialysis experience preferred
• Two years recent acute medical or surgical nursing experience required
• Well-developed patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills
• Experience in minor procedures using aseptic technique
• Ability to function autonomously and independently and able to adapt to changing situations and varying workload
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
