Job description
Overview

Registered Nursing Associate - CMHT Older Adults at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Closing date: 13 October 2025.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a registered nursing associate with an interest in working with older adults with mental health needs. The ideal candidate will be motivated and keen to extend their skills in holistic assessment and treatment for dementia and functional mental illness.

You will be working with an established multi-disciplinary team in busy clinics and patients’ homes, so a car driver is essential for this post. This integrated CMHT provides a Memory Assessment Service, care for patients with complex needs related to functional and organic illness, and Care Home and Hospital Liaison. The team’s integrated approach supports seamless care across all stages of illness.

Main duties of the job
  • Administer depot medications (not including high-risk medications); monitor for side effects and efficacy of other medications, including cognitive enhancers, and provide titration advice.
  • Actively promote teamwork and uphold Trust values and Code of Conduct. Maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for revalidation.
  • Provide support to the nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care for service users.
  • Exercise professional accountability and responsibility using knowledge and skills in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and unfamiliar situations as outlined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Offer clinical leadership to Health Care Support Workers as part of the team.
  • Maintain a positive and open attitude towards organisational change and service development.
