Registered Nurse - Women's and Child Health Float Pool

Job Overview

Provides safe patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care on the Nursing Unit. Float Pool staff will be required to float to a minimum of 2 areas within the Women's and Child Health program, including Post Partum, Labour & Delivery, and NICU. The successful candidate will primarily work within the Women/Child Health area.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in nursing assessments and interventions
  • Develop care plans and implement prescribed treatments
  • Administer medications and evaluate treatments
  • Monitor and document treatment progress and patient responses
  • Act as advocate, coordinator, and liaison for patients/residents
  • Identify needs and set priorities collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Facilitate patient and family education and discharge planning
  • May act as a charge nurse
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C)
  • Recent practice as a Registered Nurse within the last five years or completion of specified courses if not practiced recently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Course
