Job summary

St Edmunds Hospital in Bury St Edmunds (part of Circle Health Group) is recruiting a Registered Nurse (Adult) for Ward bank shifts. The role supports staffing during busy periods and holidays on a pay rate up to £19 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will deliver direct nursing care, assess and update care plans, administer medications, and maintain thorough documentation in line with NMC standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
• Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in IT systems used for patient records, documentation, and care planning.
• Previous experience in a relevant specialty desirable (e.g., surgical, medical, outpatient, orthopaedics, critical care).

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, recognise changes in condition, and elevate appropriately using clinical judgement.

• Ensure that all care provided complies with NMC standards, clinical governance requirements, and hospital policies.
• Identify and report incidents, safeguarding concerns, and potential risks in line with hospital procedures.

Salary: Up to £19.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Wards department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include
