We are looking for committed and dedicated registered nurses to join the Ward 2 nursing team.
Ward 2 is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward - admitting patients directly from the Emergency Department following a fracture or soft tissue injury. You will be working with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team caring for patients - pre and post operatively, and promoting rehabilitation care plans.
We pride ourselves on Ward 2 for our patient centred approach - you will be supported to develop your leadership skills and clinical competence, working alongside our skilled and dedicated team.
We expect staff to work together as a team to achieve the best outcomes; you will be encouraged to work with your manager to identify any learning needs to develop your skills, knowledge and competence in this area of nursing.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff).
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
