Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Vascular ward at Basildon Hospital. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary team, developing and evaluating care plans while ensuring accurate documentation.

The role is a 10-month fixed-term contract. An NMC pin and hospital or care home experience are required; sponsorship is not available. Closing date is 05 November 2026.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our dedicated team on Frederick Banting Ward (Vascular) at Basildon Hospital. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about delivering high quality,patient centered care.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Assessing, developing and implementing patient care plans, evaluating care given, ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately.
• Participate in the formulation and updating of Trust policies and procedures related to speciality.
• To ensure all drug administration is in accordance with legal/NMC and Trust/Directorate policies and procedures.
• Assisting with safe custody, storage and control of all drugs at ward level. After assessment of patient group directives be able to administer drugs to patients.
• Develop organisational and managerial skills.

Main duties of the job

• You will work with the ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the ward team.
• Following the preceptorship period the post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise unqualified and adaptation staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
• To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.
