Job description

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or a Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with a current UK pin number and a passion for delivering outstanding care.

You'll be working 42 hours a week at Ellen Mhor. This is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting up to 12 adults living with learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism spectrum conditions. The team also supports individuals with challenging behaviours and associated mental or physical health needs. We provide tailored nursing care that promotes independence and community integration.

Located in Dundee, residents have access to activities such as leisure centres, cinema, theatre, markets, shops, and cafés. The team at Ellen Mhor promotes independence by working closely with residents to meet their wishes, needs, and interests. Regular house meetings are held to discuss topics from meal planning to social calendars.

Our experienced staff employ least restrictive practice approaches and are trained in specialised intervention techniques and sensory integration strategies.

Your day-to-day

1. Produce outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
2. Collaborate with management to develop, audit, and improve the service quality.
3. Attend training sessions and engage in CPD to enhance your knowledge and nursing practice.
4. Ensure care plans are complete and maintained according to NMC guidelines, involving residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
5. Administer medicines following healthcare procedures and guidelines.

You

As an experienced RMN/RNLD with a current Pin Number, you will have:

Essential:

• The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity.
• A good understanding of current nursing practices.
• A commitment to patient recovery, monitoring, managing, and reducing risks.
• Compassion, resilience, and dedication to empowering and supporting service users' independence.

Desirable:

• The ability to deputise as a clinical lead.
