ER

Full-time

Night shift

3, 12 hours shifts, 72hrs/week

Job Summary:

FTE/Hours: 1.0 - 36hrs/week

$7,500 Sign on Bonus for eligible new hires

The Emergency Nurse must be able to think on their feet and prioritize quickly. Must have the flexibility to continually restructure, sometimes by the minute. Must be able to obtain a health history as well as complete an accurate physical assessment and plan for treatment. Critical thinking and sharp decision-making are essential for this role. Good communication skills are imperative. Must be able to deal with unplanned situations, and it is not unusual to experience angry and even combative behaviors expressed by patients or their families. Attributes for success as an emergency department nurse include compassion, humor, good organizational skills, and being a team player.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Graduation from an RN program, current unencumbered Vermont nursing license.
  2. Experience: ER experience, current BLS. Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC or obtain within 1 year of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for coordinating and providing care to patients on the Acute unit, which includes assessment, treatment, development of a plan of care, and discharge planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as an RN and licensed in the State of Vermont.
  2. Experience: Clinical experience in Med-Surg preferred, but willing to train.
