Northwood is currently accepting applications for Part Time Registered Nurse to join our long term care team in Bedford.

Responsibilities:

  1. Delivers quality person centered care
  2. Coordinates plan of care and collaborates with interprofessional team
  3. Conducts comprehensive assessments of clients
  4. Maintains accurate and timely documentation pertaining to clients and staff
  5. Addresses mental health and social issues (e.g. advocating for the client as appropriate, tailoring communication to needs, calming the client, promoting health life choices, reassuring the client)
  6. Responds to complaints, concerns, and all initial incident investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective action and follow up is taken and documented
  7. Establishes effective relationships with clients and family
  8. Organizes and ensures work is completed in a safe, timely, and effective manner
  9. Establishes and maintains a safe environment for clients and staff
  10. Records patients’ medical information and vital signs
  11. Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions
  12. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions
  13. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates resident care
  14. Maintains clinical skills as required and seeks learning opportunities to remain current
  15. Provides leadership to assigned areas

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Nurse with the Province of Nova Scotia
  2. Minimum 6 months of related experience (preferably with experience in long term care)
  3. Strong clinical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  4. Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, decision making, group process, and directing and supervising others
  5. Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  6. Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics
  7. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently

Effective Date: Immediately

Hours of Work: 40 Hours Biweekly (8 Hour Shifts)
