  • Schedule: Multiple shifts available, including weekends only and full-time days or nights
  • Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's East

Unit Details:

6 North Telemetry is an 18-bed intermediate care unit specializing in caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses or comorbidities who may need telemetry monitoring. Nurses on this unit will develop or advance their skills to detect medical or cardiac issues, communicate with providers, and discover interventions to prevent emergent situations. Responsibilities for nurses on this unit include assessments, rhythm interpretations, lab value analyses, patient and family education, wound care, IV management, and medication administration and management. Advanced technology in the form of telemetry nursing support is enabled to help bedside staff treat patients with the highest level of care.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
