Job description

Medcor is looking to hire a Registered Nurse (PRN) at our employer-based, occupational health clinics in Leola and Lancaster, PA. The Onsite Health & Wellness Technician plays a critical role in delivering Medcor’s Workplace Health Management services by performing onsite nursing services related to injury and illness evaluation and treatment at assigned client worksites. The role serves as a resource, point of contact, and liaison for the administration and continuous improvement of health and wellness programs for our valued customers.

The hours of the clinic are as follows:

Monday - Friday: 7:00 am-3:30 pm, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, and two weekend shifts per month.

Pay Rate: Starts at $35/hour with potential to earn more based on experience.

Since this is on an as-needed basis, there are no guaranteed hours. If you have the availability to pick up an occasional shift, we invite you to apply.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe nursing care services, emergency (first-aid) evaluation, and treatment to onsite employees within scope of practice and according to standard operation procedures and protocols.
  • Exercise proper medical triage in evaluating severity, treatment, disposition, referral, and transportation.
  • Collaborate and work with cross-functional partners, including onsite client department managers, human resources, environmental health & safety, and security to ensure the integration and coordination of services are consistent with standardized operations, Medcor patient care guidelines, and client policies and procedures.
  • Perform workplace employment screening per client policy and procedure, such as conducting hearing tests, administering drug and alcohol screening for post-offer, post-accident, and DOT requirements, and coordinating post-offer physicals and DOT-required physician in collaboration with onsite human resources.
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping, workers’ compensation, and leave of absence activities and maintain electronic medical record documentation. Ensure records comply with State, Federal, and OSHA, workers’ compensation, and ADA regulations.
  • Participate in employee health/wellness and safety-related programs and events, such as biometric screenings, blood glucose testing, and other health management-related initiatives.
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse Diploma
  • 1 to 2 years or more of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • MUST have a valid Registered Nurse License
Desired Job Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the Emergency Room or Urgent Care.
  • CPR, PALS, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
  • Knowledge of Worker's Compensation, Safety Event reporting, and health and safety concepts and protocols.
  • Bonus if you have at least 1 year of experience in an occupational health setting.
  • Flexibility and availability to cover 2 different sites if needed.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Frequent lifting, moving, and climbing stairs with a 50lb jump bag/backpack.
  • May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn on the production floor to minimize exposure to hazards that may cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses, which may include items such as gloves, safety glasses, and shoes, earplugs or muffs, hard hats, respirators, or coveralls, vests, and full body suits.
  • Hearing and speaking clearly to impart oral information and convey detailed instruction to patients and staff, and during the use of medical equipment such as but not limited to a stethoscope.
  • Frequent standing and walking for the duration of a scheduled work shift.
