Looking for an opportunity to further your knowledge and skills in Cardiology within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered nurse or ODP to join the department. Our innovative Cardiology department's Cardiac Cath Labs comprise of 5 Cath Labs, a recovery area and an Elective Unit.
Procedures completed in the Cath Lab include coronary diagnostic procedures, interventional angioplasty, Electrophysiology Studies and Pacemaker insertion. In addition we run a 24 hour heart attack service which is provided out of hours on an on call basis. Our service currently entails 2.5 GA lists a week supporting complex pacing and electrophysiology procedures. We also have a fortnightly cardioversion list. This is set to increase in the future.
Future development opportunities within the department include becoming a Cath Lab Practitioner where you learn to become a multi skilled worker performing all different roles in the lab; clinical facilitator role where you focus on education and training for all members of the team; and deputy manager roles where you take on coordinating all Cath Labs and managing junior staff within the department.
A role in the Cath Lab includes caring for patient's pre and post recovery in the elective unit, acting as scrub practitioner during sterile cases and supporting patients as a circulating practitioner by caring for all their needs during procedures.
